You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid.
- Matthew 5:14
Shining City Teens is a place that encourages teens and young adults to live out God's purpose for their lives. Scripture says, "Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers (1 Tim. 4:12a). In today's media and me saturated culture, living God's way can be hard. But God didn't call His people to obey His commandments and go forth when they reached a certain age. Living for the glory of God transcends age.
Welcome to the city.
I'm just a girl with a heart for God and a passion for orphans. I don't pretend to have all the answers; I just like to share my views on what the Bible says for young adults in the world, and gain some wisdom and insight along the way. I am a freshman at Asbury University, double majoring in Creative Writing and Pre-Seminary Bible-Theology. I have an incredible family: a mom, a dad, two little brothers (Jace, 14 & Levi, 6) and a little sister (Evan, 6). All of my siblings are adopted, and the younger two have special needs. Because of my siblings and the way that God wove my family together, my passion is to care for special needs orphans and, as Proverbs 31:8 says, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." I've been on short-term mission trips to Peru and China, and hope to spend more time on the mission field in the future. Some of my favorite things include BBC period dramas, good books, getting tacos with my siblings, film scores, Earl Grey, and special needs orphan care.
